Service Request

Need a maintenance visit for your zoned air-conditioning system? Send through a service request and our Johannesburg team will schedule an inspection for filters, drainage, controls or airflow issues. We cover homes and offices across Johannesburg, Sandton, Randburg, Pretoria, Centurion and Pretoria East.

What to log when a system needs attention

If your ducted system is not cooling evenly, is dripping water, or the thermostat is not responding, log a service request as soon as possible. The more detail you give us, the faster we can match the fault to the right technician and bring the correct parts or test gear on the first visit.

Common reasons for a call-out include blocked filters, weak airflow in one room, damp smells from the ducts, tripped controls after load-shedding, and condensate drainage problems. In Pretoria East and the northern suburbs we also see many units affected by dust, while coastal humidity is not a major issue here, the same drainage checks still matter in enclosed ceilings.

How to submit your request

Send your service request by email to design@airzone.co.za and include the basics below. If you are in Johannesburg CBD, Sandton or Centurion, mention access details for booms, security counters and parking so we can plan the visit properly.

  • Your name and contact number
  • Property suburb and town
  • Type of property: home, office or mixed use
  • System symptoms and when they started
  • Any recent power cuts, renovations or ceiling work
  • Preferred day and time for a visit

If the issue is urgent, say whether the unit is off completely or still running with poor airflow. That helps us decide if the fault is likely controls, motors, dampers or drainage.

What our maintenance visit covers

Our service visits are practical and focused on getting the system working properly again. We check the air handlers, thermostats, dampers and visible duct sections, then confirm whether the problem sits with airflow, cooling demand or controls programming.

  • Filter cleaning or replacement checks
  • Drain tray and condensate line inspection
  • Thermostat and zone controller testing
  • Damper movement and airflow balancing checks
  • Electrical fault tracing after load-shedding or surges
  • Basic system safety and noise checks

If we find a bigger issue, such as a failed actuator or a control board fault, we will explain the next step before any further work is done.

Before the technician arrives

A little preparation saves time on site and keeps the visit tidy. Make sure ceiling access panels are reachable, pets are secured, and someone on site knows where the main isolator and thermostat are. If the system serves several rooms, please let us know which room is the hottest, or where the airflow feels weakest.

  • Keep the thermostat accessible
  • Clear furniture away from return air grilles if possible
  • Note any recent error messages or flashing lights
  • Tell us about unusual smells, dripping or rattling sounds
  • Have the body corporate or building manager contact details ready if required

In offices, especially around Pretoria Central and Sandton, after-hours visits can be arranged where building rules limit daytime access.

Servicing for homes, offices and retrofit systems

Many of our service requests come from older zoned systems that were installed years ago and now need careful attention. Retrofit systems can run well for a long time, but dust, worn actuators and changes to room layouts can throw the balance off. If your home has had a kitchen upgrade or your office has moved partitions around, the airflow pattern may need to be adjusted.

For new builds, we often confirm that the original design still matches how the rooms are used. A spare room turned into a study, or a boardroom that now holds more people, can change cooling demand quite a bit. It is worth checking before the peak summer months, when everyone notices the issue at once.

Our response area and working hours

We are based in Johannesburg and support Pretoria and surrounding areas with scheduled service visits. Our team works across Johannesburg, Sandton, Randburg, Pretoria, Centurion and Pretoria East, and we plan call-outs around site access, traffic and building rules to avoid wasted time.

Once your request is received, we review the symptoms, confirm the address, and send back a suitable appointment slot. If the fault sounds urgent, we will say so. If it can wait for a planned maintenance visit, we will group it with the next practical opening so you are not left guessing.

Questions we get asked

What details should I include in a service request?

Give us your name, suburb, contact number, property type, the symptoms you are seeing, and any recent power outages, renovations or ceiling work. That helps us prepare for the visit.

Can you help if only one room is not cooling properly?

Yes. That often points to a damper, airflow balance issue or a thermostat setting problem. Tell us which room is affected and whether other rooms are working normally.

Do you cover Pretoria as well as Johannesburg?

Yes. We work in Johannesburg, Sandton, Randburg, Pretoria, Centurion and Pretoria East, with service support from our Johannesburg base.
